Milano-Sanremo
"The Classicissima"

A real journey. A journey that starts from Milan and, after more or less 300 kilometers, ends in Sanremo. It could be defined as "ultra-cycling" but it is simply the "Classicissima" of spring. The longest race in the entire UCI World Tour calendar. The first of the five classic monuments that every professional cyclist has dreamed of since he was a child.
Milano-Sanremo

A story born in 1907 and which, over the years, has seen the greatest champions of this sport triumph: from Gino Bartali and Fausto Coppi, up to Eddy Merckx and Erik Zabel. We can define it as the most open and perhaps the most unpredictable classic monument. Sprinters, one-day racing specialists and, even, the contenders of the most important stage races such as the Giro d'Italia and Tour De France. The Classicissima makes everyone fall in love.

It is a race that excites the whole "Peloton" and that is tempting for too many athletes. Whoever wins in Sanremo tends to make history.

We cannot forget the victory of "our" Paolo Bettini in 2003 (with the leader's jersey of the "World Cup") but not even the wonderful action of Vincenzo Nibali in 2018 in the Bahrain-Merida jersey; the last Italian victory in this Spring Classic.

It's true! In this type of competition only and exclusively the victory counts but, we also like to remember that whoever finishes second or third is not always defeated. Peter Sagan, Fabian Cancellara, Greg LeMond, Mario Cipollini and many others worthy of note. History is made by men, people, athletes and their deeds. A sprint, a shot on the Cipressa, a sensational descent from the Poggio. History is also made of this!

Today this same story was written by Matej Mohoric, from the Bahrain-Victorius team, who with a sensational action on the descent from the Poggio, won the 113th edition of the Milan-Sanremo.

TEAM TOTALENERGIES
THE FIRST ONE WITH SPORTFUL

Team TotalEnergies was also among the starters of the 2022 edition. The French team that proposes itself as “Ambassadeurs du monde de demain” and that has brought all its best men to best honor one of the most important races of the season: from Peter Sagan to Edvald Boasson-Hagen; passing through the “rocker” Daniel Oss and the promising Anthony Turgis.

Just Anthony Turgis, after the 29th place in 2020, placed immediately behind the winner of the day and ahead of Mathieu Van Der Poel. A beautiful race by the 27-year-old Frenchman who always manages to keep the wheels of the best and sprint a few meters from the finish line to precede the chasing group.

Too bad luck for Peter Sagan who, on the climb to the Cipressa, is delayed due to a technical problem
